There are places you visit, and then there are places that leave a lasting impression. The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia exceeded every expectation and delivered one of the most relaxing, luxurious, and memorable getaways we've ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine Southern hospitality. Every staff member we encountered was warm, professional, and eager to make our stay special. The resort itself is absolutely stunning, blending rich history with beautifully updated accommodations, all surrounded by the breathtaking Allegheny Mountains. Our anniversary getaway was nothing short of perfect. The spa treatments were exceptional, providing the relaxation we didn't even realize we needed. Horseback riding through the scenic mountain trails was peaceful and unforgettable, and every meal we enjoyed was absolutely delicious. Whether it was breakfast, dinner, or simply relaxing with a drink, the quality of the food and service was outstanding. The grounds are immaculate and offer something for everyone, whether you're looking for adventure, romance, or simply a quiet place to unwind. We especially loved taking time to explore the pro

This historic hotel offers seclusion from the hustle and bustle of busy life. Nestled in the mountains its geography removes you physically to a more relaxed atmosphere. Visitors will not find much to do beyond the property lines. Dining options are not as plentiful nor is the menu as robust as one would hope; this is further complicated by the very limited dining options off site as this location is very remote. If you are planning a stay, you should be sure that there is enough diversity in things to do and eat on site. While the staff is very polite, you will find them very scripted. Sincerity is void. Midwesterners will particularly notice this difference. Stairs are plentiful and elevator service does not offer full coverage to every floor and every room with. Strong consideration should be given to using a service for your luggage to get to and from your room. While I believe southern charm may be a goal, they fall short in the areas of hospitality, sincerity and outward friendliness. We found the property and rooms to be clean.

I just wanted to give a huge shout-out to Shonda at the front desk. She was absolutely amazing! It was late, and we knew we had a limited window to order food. We were relaxing on the front porch, enjoying the rocking chairs and watching the rain, so my husband ordered room service but asked to have it delivered to the front desk so we could keep enjoying the evening outside. Unfortunately, I started getting tired and decided I was ready to head to our room for the night. I stopped by the front desk to let Shonda know I would just wait there until the food arrived before going upstairs. Her response was, β€œAbsolutely not. You don’t need to wait.” She assured me that once the order was delivered, she would take my husband’s meal out to him on the porch and have mine brought to our room. Not only did she follow through, but she personally delivered my meal and made sure everything was correct. Wow! The hotel itself was very nice, and we had a great overall experience, but Shonda’s kindness, initiative, and exceptional customer service took our stay to another level. She truly made our visit memorable, and she deserves to be recognized for going above and beyond.

I really wanted to leave a five star review, but cannot. I will, however, not share the photos of the shower in our room after the manager attempted to make it right by offering a reduction in cost of the over $1K one night stay for me and my two small kids. The property is beautiful and is located in a stunning area of Virginia. It’s vast and impressive. The lobby is gorgeous and the history is fascinating. That said, the extra money added to the base price is excessive. Happy to spend the money if the experience is worth it, but this was not. The included tea time was lackluster. They offered a tiny price of coconut cake and buffet style tea, coffee, and lemonade. The check in process was awkward and unwelcoming. We had to ask for the Kids Creative Bags (which were awesome). The staff at Woody’s restaurant were friendly. The kids enjoyed the pools and lawn games. $15 for a small S’mores kit FYI. Overall my kids had a wonderful time and this was our first trip away on a while, but we had more bang for our buck watching the chickens and going to the pools when we stayed at the Inn at Warm Springs. Still worth the experience for my kids, but I’ll probably choose Greenbrier after the

Overall, the trip was fine. It's a classic, Virginia mountain resort that has some great views. However, we found some of the food quality to be lacking, the spa experience overrated, and the hotel's policy regarding military discounts confusing. We had a couple meals that had issues (shrimp not being fully cooked, crab dip made poorly) that were atypical of a 5 Star hotel and dining experience. Bartenders and wait staff were great, however. When it comes to the spa, it's more of a gimmick and social media hot spot at the moment. From the "experiential showers" to the slightly heated chair and room, over half of the listed spa treatments are a complete waste. The warm spring, pool, and hot tub are neat, as well as the Swedish sauna and the steamed sauna. But don't make the trip out here for just the Garden Spa. Upon checking out, we were told if we were military, that we could potentially get discounts at each and every individual vendor, but that we were supposed to ask each one during our stay, and that since we didn't, that was on us. That was not clear at check in, so a bit of a bummer. They didn't offer any additional support at check out despite all the activities we did.
